Inside/below, we are sharing more information about the work we do and the people and organizations we support. Of course, none of this would be possible without your ongoing help, for which our members thank you.

Each year, The Rotary Club of Dartmouth donates tens of thousands of dollars to local community groups and initiatives around the world. From preparing home-cooked meals for people experiencing homelessness at the Metro Turning Point centre, supporting the Freedom Foundation of Nova Scotia to help men living with substance abuse, or donating to the Dartmouth General Hospital’s various campaigns, our members are working to make the lives of those less fortunate just a little better.

Our international projects range from helping build a maternity facility in Africa, numerous medical missions to Tanzania, and much more. We’ve also supported numerous initiatives to help girls and women obtain an education, giving them a chance at a better life. Our website, www.dartmouthrotary.ca, chronicles many of the projects the club has taken on, so I encourage you to visit us there for more information.

While no one person or organization will solve these serious and very real challenges, Rotary is committed to taking on these problems, one project at a time. We hope you find the articles below interesting and inspiring –please feel free to share this newsletter with your friends and family!

About Rotary

In case you’re wondering, we don’t have a secret handshake! Rotarians, and particularly the Rotary Club of Dartmouth, are simply people of all ages and from many backgrounds who believe that we can make a difference, one small act of generosity at a time.

While we can’t change the world, the small steps that our club takes are done alongside people who become friends. We meet weekly for those who can, whilst undertaking numerous initiatives throughout the year all within an environment of respect and inclusion.

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.” - Margaret Mead

That principle guides all we do, and we welcome like-minded Haligonians to join us.
